Microsoft would halt sales of Lumia end of the year to leave the field hardware OEMs
Month after month, figures from the distribution of mobile platforms entrench the dominance of Android versus an Apple that keeps your little piece of the pie and, above all, the decline of Windows Phone. If you look at the figures, Microsoft’s mobile platform has been losing steam and today only has a 0.6% share – 3.4% less than the same period last year.
Falling Windows Mobile is already a fact and the latest rumors do not portend improvements. According to an anonymous source within Microsoft, the company could suspend sales of the Lumia series later this year. With this move, which incidentally has not been confirmed, the Redmond would move away from hardware field and leave it in the hands of OEMs. Will they manage to re-float the platform?
